The aim is to take you on a walk or run around the Parish and to support 3 local businesses.

Why not start your walk or run at:

The Bay Horse in Arnold (///cared.upholding.secure)

The Micro Pig (///jogging.stun.twig) on the main street in Long Riston.

Stock up with snacks for the walk, drinks, sandwiches, hot rolls and sausage rolls or just a Costa coffee You can drive in to get what you need then go to your start or you can drop by on the route at:

The Spar Long Riston and Gulf Garage (///ticket.entitles.plant) on the bypass.

Route 1 - Riston - Rise - Arnold

Start:

  • 4.36 miles

Road:

  • 0.75 miles on B road quiet - Rise road past Rise Park gatehouses to Skirlaugh

  • 200yds on verge of A164 main road - take care

  • Arnold Village road to underpass near Gulf garage

Bridleway/footpath

  • Across fields Rise to main road A164

  • 1.45 miles on gallops (grass bridleway)

Elevation: flat

  • 50 minutes run

  • 2.5 hours walk

Route 2 - Riston Carrs Arnold Carrs

Start:

Distance:

  • 5.6 miles

Road:

  • 1.6 miles single track road to Arnold and main street Long Riston

Bridleway/footpath/track

  • 1.2 miles on single track dead end road to Riston Carrs

  • 1.1 miles along bank of Monk Dyke

  • 1.4 miles on farm track

Elevation: flat

Time:

  • 60 minutes run

  • 2.5 hours walk
